First and foremost, I again have to thank Baimun for his HydraSpawn design that inspired me to make this one. The second I saw his design, I knew I had to make this figure.
My original intentions were to use a Wings of Redemption Spawn, and use some creech tentacles. For his head, I was going to use the gasmask from nuclear spawn or something similar. I later decided to use the Swat Spawn head from S24. I never wanted to go with the fins idea, and I knew I wanted to make him scuba-ish, so I decided I was going to add some small air tanks on his back.
Then, Guyver made a great Hydra Spawn custom, using the WOR body, and similar tentacles. It was too close to what I had in mind, and I didn't want to make a duplicate.
So I went back to the idea board. From this, I came up with an all new recipe, and I am really happy with the final results. I went with a Spawn VI body from Series 20 (mass market), as I liked the stance, and the hooks on the shoulders seemed to fit. Plus, I just happened to have one in the fodder box. I removed his head, and added the Swat Spawn head as I had planned. Then, it was just a matter of adding the tentacles I scrapped from a Creech 2. I liked the pointy ends, and they are much longer than Creech 1. Then I made a belt using some hose scraps from the fodder bins, and to connect them, a Spawn skull and the bottom part from a scrap gasmask I had as well. For the tanks, the dippy little tanks I had originally planned looked odd, and I decided to go with something beefier. Plus, I guess I'm on this back tank kick left over from the Overtkill I did. I had a Blackthorn from Ultima Online in the fodder box that I picked up at the KB closeout clearance. His backpack worked nicely, with the help of the dremel. The spear was made from some handled blade weapons that I had in my weapon fodder - I used some PVC tubing, and stuck one in each end (with some carving down of the handles).
So here's the finished product - my HydraSpawn. Let me know what you think:

NOW we're cooking with Gas!!!!.....
Great Googly Moogly that is sweet, Doc. That's nearly identical to how I pictured him in my head when I started the little photoshop project.
So now you have a bald Creech??? From one figure-bastardizer to another....
...Let the corpses pile up... so that our art may speak for itself!!! (Wow, that sounds even more twisted then I thought it would.

Thanks man!
Not only is he bald, he's got no forearms either! I got them planned for a future custom! But yes, there is a bald, amputated creech screaming in the bottom of another bucket. Exactly where Creech 2 belongs. I scrapped the only good parts from him! Viva la Creech 1!

Glad I matched your vision man... I felt the vibe when I saw the pic... the moons must have been aligned properly that day... or something like that...
